With RideFinders, you're never stranded!
Need to leave work early for an appointment or illness? Need to work late? No worries. If a change in schedule prevents you from catching your regular carpool or vanpool ride home, you can still get fast, safe transportation through our Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program.
As long as you are a registered RideFinders vanpool, carpool, or Madison County Transit Express bus user, you are eligible to receive up to four, $125 rides home per year from a variety of regional taxi services as well as popular ride-hailing apps like Uber and Lyft. Registration is free. All you have to do is sign up.
Eligibility
To qualify for the GRH, you must be a member of a registered carpool or RideFinders vanpool or be a registered Madison County Transit (MCT) Express bus rider.
Your employer provides a contact who partners with RideFinders to promote SMART transportation solutions for their workers.
Trips
Eligible commuters can receive up to four (4) one-way GRH rides home per calendar year either by taxi or ride-hailing app. These rides renew on January 1 each year.
Destinations
Your one-way trip must originate from your workplace or college to qualify.
Limitations
Eligible commuters are responsible for any GRH ride charges exceeding $125 as well as an optional gratuity upon drop off by the ride provider.
Reasons
Acceptable reasons for using a GRH include unscheduled overtime, sudden illness, family emergency, early daycare/school/work release for self or family members, or unanticipated absence of your carpool or vanpool driver.
How to Obtain a Guaranteed Ride Home
When you register for a carpool or vanpool, you’ll receive a Welcome email from RideFinders. If your company has a RideFinders Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC), their contact information will be provided in the email. This person serves as a liaison to assist workers with RideFinders’ program benefits.
As soon as you know you’ll need a Guaranteed Ride Home, contact your ETC or RideFinders at (314) 621-7433. If no one is available, notifcation should occur as soon as possible after the emergency to be eligible for reimbursement.
A GRH voucher will be generated by your ETC. Vouchers issued at the time of need may be used to secure an emergency ride with a RideFinders preferred taxi service for no out-of-pocket cost, up to $125.* When no ETC is available, or if you prefer to use Uber, Lyft or another ridehail service, reimbursements can be requested by submitting a paid receipt along with your voucher obtained on the following business day to ridefinders@mct.org.
Your ETC or RideFinders must verify eligibility.
You must present a voucher to the taxi driver to secure a ride for no out of pocket cost.
Participants using an advanced voucher must call a RideFinders GRH Taxi Provider.
We recommend you provide the cab company a call back phone number and allow ample time for the taxi to arrive.
